Preetika

Preetika is the lead actress of the Tamil movie Chikku Bhukku, which has the rhythmic sound of a moving train. Paired opposite the very popular actor Aarya the movie is produced by Mediaone Global Entertainment ltd, and directed by director Manigandan.

Biography

Actress Preetika is originally a Mangalorian who was born and brought up in Mumbai.
She completed her graduation in Bachelors of Arts and acquired a diploma in Mass Communication and Journalism and now has her own column with South Side Movie Magazine in Chennai and also writes for several other news papers.
She started modeling at the age of 19 and was the face to endorse several prestigious campaigns in Mumbai, Chennai & Hyderabad.

Family

Preetika comes from a Business Family in Mumbai. Her grandfather was a Mine owner in Burma, but shifted to India during the Japan War turmoil period.
Her dad is a businessman and her mom is a house-wife.

Career

Preetika is playing the lead role in Arya’s new movie Chikku Bukku. The movie is being directed by Manikandan. This is Preetika’s first movie and she’s really excited about it.

“When director Manikandan narrated the script of Chikku Bhukku, I fell in love with my character Meenab, a traditional, homely girl. I could relate to the character. We shot in Karaikudi in a huge Chettiar mansion.”

As a biography, Preetika, or Preeti Rao, is 22 years old. She is the sister of popular Bollywood actress Amrita Rao and attended Sophia College from where she graduated in Arts and Mass Communication. She then worked in a south Indian movie magazine and a newspaper as a gossip columnist.
Preetika was recommended by her editor to the director. She passed the screen test very comfortably and was chosen for the lead role. She tells us about her co-actor Arya:

“Arya is a chilled out guy and I call him guruji, as he became my mentor on the sets. After I saw Naan Kadavul in a theatre in Karaikudi, I became a fan of his and feel he is a superb actor. I’m glad that my first film is with Arya who has a huge fan base among the youth.”

Preetika is currently working on a a Kannada film Rakthaksha, being directed by Rajendra Singh Babu. Being flooded by offers from Tamil, Telugu movie industries and even Bollywood… future seems perfect for her.

Arya is my fitness guru: Preetika

If you've seen this debutant actress in person, you'll wonder why she ever needs to be concerned about her fitness. With an hourglass figure, Preetika is as fit as she can be. Yet, pretty Preetika, Bollywood actress Amrita Rao's sister, insists on calling fitness her 'morning mantra' these days.
The beauty seems to have taken her fitness regime seriously after her co-star Arya shared some fitness secrets with her . "Arya has a great physique! While working on Chikku Bukku, he was kind enough to lend some serious fitness tips to me," she reveals.
Apparently, the good-looking Kollywood hunk - whose female fans seem to be increasing by the day - took personal interest in Preetika and charted out a diet and a workout regime for his latest leading lady. "Arya would ask me every time on the sets about whether I had hit the gym! And during lunch and dinner breaks, he would give special instructions to the cook on how to serve me the right platter!" reveals Preetika.
And from what we hear, Preetika is getting compliments for her new-toned look that's adding a dash of spice to her sweet features. "All thanks to Arya; he is my fitness guru!" exclaims the Mangalorean beauty.
About her rumoured "frosty relationship" with Shriya Saran (the other heroine of Chikku Bukku), Preetika says, "Contrary to rumours, we get along well. I first met Shriya in Karaikudi on the sets of the movie. It was Arya who introduced me to her and the first thing she said to me was that I have a lovely voice and that she finds me very beautiful! Such words of praise and appreciation, coming from someone I consider a consummate actress and a perfect beauty, was overwhelming! We ended up spending two hours at dinner, discovering that we can almost see each other's homes in Mumbai from our balconies. We spoke about everything under the sun - right from meditation techniques to workouts and diets".
The film, which also has Shriya Saran as Arya's leading actress, seems to be creating a bit of confusion about the Preetika's role in it. Ask her about it and she playfully replies, "Well, Arya's just got lucky this time with two leading ladies!" About why she was not in London for the film's latest song shoot, she states, "I don't feature in that particular song. In a way, I'm glad I was not part of the song because that would mean I would have been stranded in London like my co-stars! However, I feature in three other songs, but can't reveal anything more on them or the film at this stage." So, what's she doing next in Kollywood? "I'm listening to a lot of stories and will take a call soon."
